Think Clayton Think Home
Clayton, NC, is a small town located in Johnston County, about 16 miles outside Raleigh, NC. There are many reasons for choosing Clayton to call home. I want to share with you some of my experiences today as I took a trip to Clayton to explore the growing smalltown.
Clayton offers various outdoor activities; one of my favorites is the Clayton River Walk located at 2686 Covered Bridge Rd. The beautiful walk is 4 miles of a paved trail that begins at the Wake County/Johnston County line and runs parallel to the Neuse River under the Covered Bridge Road.
Downtown Clayton has a little bit of everything restaurants, live entertainment, gift shops, coffee shops, cheesecake, cupcakes, candies, cakes, a local pharmacy, food stores, health and wellness, hair salons, produce and garden centers, doctors, lawyers, accountants, art galleries, sign shops, printers, and a homemade ice cream shop.
A few of my favorites stops today in downtown Clayton was Jacquelynn's Gift Shop. I met the owner today; she was friendly and super helpful, and what a cute store. The store offered various items to include beach-themed items, bows, jewelry, and cute gift ideas.
At the time this blog was written, these are the Homes For Sale in Clayton. I attended a few open houses today of fellow colleagues and visited some of the local neighborhoods listed below. Flowers Plantation is one of the largest residential developments in the Triangle, offering homes for first time home buyers to custom-built executive homes and lots in between. The very well maintained community is comprised of many different neighborhoods with homes for sale starting in the $200,000’s up to $800,000. Flowers Plantation residents can enjoy walking trails, two pools, and a state of the art fitness center. Some of the neighborhoods are in the gated section of the development while others are not and thus have lower HOA dues. Also located close by is a retail center, Flowers Crossroads which is anchored by a Harris Teeter supermarket, restaurants, and CVS. I had lunch today at Don Beto Tacos and Tequila it was a beautiful day to sit outside and I must say the food was delicious.
Glen Laurel has long been the top neighborhood in Clayton for higher-end custom-built homes. Built around the Neuse Golf Course. The subdivision offers older homes many of which are updated, on the golf course with mature landscaping and newer phases with new homes. There are usually many different home styles available and a number of basement homes can be found in Glen Laurel. Located five minutes from Downtown Clayton and in the city limits with services provided by Clayton.
