Five Sisters Blues Cafe

Whether a local, or just vising Five Sisters Cafe is a must !  Living in Navarre Florida I have the privilege of driving to Pensacola to enjoy great food, music, and history.

Located in the heart of  historic downtown #Pensacola Florida this restaurant is located in the old Gussies Record Shop and situated in the old Belmont-DeVilliers neighborhood features southern cuisine with a hint of Creole and Caribbean flair.

Owned by Cecil Johnson, who is also the chef, was inspired by his past which helped shape his vision for the restaurant.  He grew up in the the South where his mother and her sisters always prepared the best meals in Stanford, KY.  

The atmosphere in this restaurant is amazing surrounded by great art and blues/jazz music it provides the perfect backdrop for enjoying great southern food and friends.  Clientele can enjoy outdoor seating, there is a small bar area and indoor seating. 

The day I visited I had the pleasure of hearing Clarence Bell and the Fellas. The band consist of Tom Latenser, Steve Ferry and Clarence Bell.  Go visit and hear great sultry music by Clarence and the Fellas on March 3rd at 5 Sisters Blues Cafe Pensacola Music Event Calendar.  I found some really good photographs of the band at Clarence Bell and the Fella's, I took the one you see here but the lighting and location of the band in the restaurant made it difficult to capture great photo's; however it did not keep my family and I from enjoying the amazing atmosphere offered by this great local place.

The food, well I grew up in Kentucky and first and foremost, they have 2 of my favorite things: sweet tea and fried green tomatoes.  Everything being served at tables around me looked so good it was really a tough decision to narrow it down to one meal.  They serve lunch and dinner Tuesday - Saturday 11-9.  Brunch/Dinner on Sunday from 11-5. Five Sister's offers a family friendly atmosphere and kids menu. You can enjoy a family friendly atmosphere with out breaking the bank. Also offered is a kid's menu.

The Five Sisters Blues Cafe offers so much and gives us another great reason to live in the Panhandle. When traveling through Pensacola or a local looking for something new to explore please stop in and give your taste buds a treat!
